In February 2024, the journey of The LAVA Cō. took an exciting turn during a visit to the LOVE Anchor Store Bazaar in Canggu, Bali. As we strolled through the bustling market, the sweltering heat was undeniable. The air was thick, and without air conditioning, the atmosphere was a mix of vibrant energy and the undeniable reality of Bali's tropical climate.

Despite the heat, the market was alive with the sounds of chatter, the scent of incense, and the sight of countless stalls displaying handmade goods. It was there that I first met Fitri, the owner of a small but remarkable handicraft shop named Sumber Bunga. Fitri welcomed us with a warm smile, and as we wiped the sweat from our brows, she introduced to several of her unique beach bracelet designs. Her shop was a haven of creativity, filled with a variety of handmade bracelets, each piece reflecting the skill and dedication of her team. The quality of their work was immediately apparent—each bracelet was meticulously crafted, with attention to detail that spoke volumes about their expertise.

Our conversation with Fitri revealed the challenges and joys of running a small business in Bali. Despite the difficult working conditions, the artisans at Sumber Bunga displayed an unwavering commitment to their craft. When I placed our first large order, the gratitude in their eyes was palpable. It was a humbling moment, knowing that this order would have a significant impact on their lives. In Indonesia, the average daily salary is around 200,000 IDR, which is approximately $13.00 USD. For many of these workers, our partnership represented more than just business; it was an opportunity for financial stability and growth.

As we continue to collaborate with Sumber Bunga, we are reminded of the importance of mutual success. We have structured our working relationship to ensure that as The LAVA Cō. thrives, so does Sumber Bunga. This partnership is built on respect, trust, and a shared vision for the future. We are honored to be working with such talented artisans and are committed to supporting them in every way possible. Looking forward, we are excited about the possibilities that this partnership holds. The LAVA Cō. is not just about creating products; it's about fostering meaningful relationships with those who bring our vision to life. We are grateful to Fitri and the entire Sumber Bunga team for their dedication and craftsmanship. Together, we are building something truly special, and we can't wait to see what the future holds.
